Doors
What it is: one or two overlay fronts that close a door region. Single doors need a left or right hinge side; double doors form a pair.
- Single door
- Choose Left or Right to show which side carries the hinges and the preview movement.
- Double doors
- Creates two fronts with the configured gaps and appropriate split.
- What it changes
- Front quantity and size, hinge-side information, 3D preview, edge schedule and Manufacturing Pack.
- Example
- A wide door region can use double doors while a drawer-only region does not receive a front stile automatically.
Hinge and mounting-plate centres
The V1 drawings provide generic concealed-hinge centre positions and matching cabinet-side mounting-plate centre heights. They do not choose a hinge for you.
Choose actual hinges suitable for the door size, thickness and application. Set cup boring, plate setback, screw positions and fitting details from the current hinge manufacturer's instructions.
Three-sided and four-sided drawer boxes
What it is: the structural drawer box behind the visible decorative front.
- Three-sided
- The applied decorative front closes the front of the box. The drawer sides meet that front arrangement.
- Four-sided
- The drawer has its own structural box front, with a separate decorative front applied to its face.
- Applied decorative front
- The visible cabinet front. It moves with the complete drawer assembly but remains a separate part in the manufacturing model.
- What it changes
- Part count, box depth relationships, material quantities, cut list, drawings and 3D.
Drawer runner clearance
Enter the side clearance required by the drawer runner you intend to use. The Designer subtracts left and right clearance from the actual drawer opening to calculate the complete box width.
- Simple mode
- One Runner Clearance Per Side value is applied to both sides.
- Advanced
- Separate left and right values can be recorded where required.
- Example
- A 600 mm actual opening with 15 mm clearance on each side gives a 570 mm drawer-box width.
- Customer check
- Use the runner manufacturer's required clearance. A specific runner brand or profile is not mandatory in the basic builder.
Drawer depth
Drawer depth is measured within the usable cabinet space and must suit the intended runner length, back construction and service space. Changing it updates the complete drawer box and manufacturing outputs.
Drawer-bottom construction
Choose the construction that matches how you will make the box. The bottom material and thickness are separate inputs from the drawer-box material.
- Applied underside
- The bottom is fixed beneath the drawer box.
- Flush fitted
- The bottom fits within the lower box arrangement and finishes flush as configured.
- Recessed / grooved
- The bottom is captured in grooves and sits above the lower edge.
- Rebated / grooved
- Rebated bottom edges engage with grooves in the drawer parts.
- What it changes
- Bottom size and position, groove or rebate intent, box parts, cut list, drawings and material quantities.
Workshop / Advanced Note
Enter the actual groove, rebate, inset and fit values required by your tooling. Test the fit on spare material before making production parts.
Drawer and front edges
Edge treatment can be selected separately for drawer-box parts, drawer fronts and doors. Select only the edges that you intend to treat; exposed appearance alone does not automatically select edge banding.
