B. Manufacturing Pack Terms and Customer Responsibilities
Plain-English summary: What is in a Manufacturing Pack, which checks remain yours, and what to do before any cutting or machining.
1. The pack and its revision
A Manufacturing Pack is a set of digital documents generated by the selected Designer from one exact, immutable design revision. Its identity includes the customer account, Designer, design, revision, ruleset and manufacturing hash. A later design change creates a new revision and does not update an earlier pack. Always confirm that the pack you are using is the one you intend to manufacture.
The pack may contain a design summary, component schedule, dimensions, quantities, materials, thicknesses, edge-treatment information, connection locations, assembly information and individual drawings. It contains only the outputs enabled and supported for that Designer and configuration. It is not a site survey, structural calculation, product certification, installation sign-off or substitute for a tool or hardware manufacturer’s instructions.
2. Information used
Dimensions and choices are generated from the information you entered or selected. Check overall dimensions, openings, reveals, service spaces, material and back thicknesses, front and drawer layout, handedness, edge treatment and every component size. Measure actual material where its real thickness or flatness matters. Nominal sheet thickness and product descriptions may differ from the supplied item.
3. Tools, hardware and processes
Unless a pack expressly identifies a validated profile, it does not choose or certify every tool, cutter, jig, screw, connector, hinge, runner or fitting. Confirm compatibility, settings, safe use, edge distances, cutter depth, load and installation requirements against the current instructions for the exact products you use. A generic connection name describes an intended method, not an endorsement or universal machine setting.
4. Site and installation checks
Check the real site before manufacture and again before installation. Floors, walls, ceilings and openings may be out of level, out of plumb, bowed or unsquare. Confirm available access, fillers, scribes, service voids, ventilation, appliance clearances, fixing substrate and the position of electrical, gas, water, waste and other services. A Designer cannot account for an unentered site condition. Regulated or safety-critical work must be undertaken or checked by an appropriately competent or qualified person.
5. Your verification
Before cutting or machining, inspect every page and drawing and compare them with the on-screen design and your source measurements. Confirm that quantities reconcile and related parts fit conceptually. If a dimension, line, connection, material, note or drawing appears wrong, incomplete or unclear, do not guess and do not continue. Save the pack and contact contact@benchdogs.co.uk with the design and revision details and a description of the concern.
6. Responsibility for errors
We will investigate a suspected Platform or pack error using the immutable revision and generation records. We are responsible where applicable law makes us responsible, including for failure to use reasonable care and skill or digital content that does not meet statutory requirements. Customer verification does not excuse a Benchdogs-caused error. You remain responsible for inaccurate or incomplete customer inputs, unrecorded site conditions, substitutions, later changes, using a different revision, unsuitable third-party equipment or disregarding current manufacturer instructions.
Where a problem is confirmed, available remedies depend on its cause, timing and applicable law and may include correction, regeneration or a statutory remedy. Do not incur avoidable manufacturing cost after discovering a concern. Nothing here removes consumer rights or excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
