Choosing a method

What it is: the process used to join related cabinet parts. You may choose None / decide later while designing, or select a supported process to receive deterministic longitudinal fixing centres.

What the Designer provides: related part intent, fixing-centre positions and quantity where the current Benchdog layout supports them. What you check: connector, cutter, bore, groove, plunge, jig, screw, adhesive and machine settings for your actual material and application.

Current method guide

The current selectable methods are described below in plain language. A name does not make manufacturer-specific machining automatic.

Festool DOMINO DF500

Loose-tenon cabinet joints. The Designer provides the approved Benchdog longitudinal layout; choose the DOMINO and machine setup for the material and joint.

Lamello Clamex P-14

Detachable P-System joints. Use the required P-System process and access opening from Lamello's instructions.

Lamello Tenso P-14

Self-clamping glued P-System joints. Confirm groove orientation, adhesive and process.

Lamello Divario P-18

Invisible slide-in shelf or divider joints. Confirm grooves, bores and insertion direction.

Confirmat screws

Cabinet screws needing the exact selected screw and matching stepped drilling setup.

Generic dowels

Glued dowel joints. Choose dowel diameter, depth, jig or boring process and adhesive.

Mafell DuoDoweler DDF 40

Machine-specific paired dowels. The machine's 32 mm pair spacing is distinct from the longitudinal pair positions.

Lamello wooden biscuits

Glued plate joints made with a compatible biscuit groove process. Choose biscuit size and adhesive.

Standard screws

Generic screw intent. Choose a screw, pilot, countersink and driving setup suitable for the material.

Pocket Holes

Angled screw joints. A pocket-hole jig and suitable screws are required; follow the selected manufacturer's settings.

Häfele Minifix / Rafix

Knock-down cam or housing-and-bolt systems. Select a current matched product set and use its boring instructions.

Other cam-and-dowel system

Generic design intent only until an exact matched system and drilling process are selected.

Loose-tenon cabinet joints made with the DF 500.

The approved Benchdog 37 mm end-centre, symmetric 150–175 mm target and 205 mm maximum automatic interval layout.

Connection centres

A connection centre is the measured position along a joint where the selected joining operation belongs. The Designer calculates these positions automatically for the basic V1 workflow; customers do not have to choose spacing for every connector.
